Kolonia, Pohnpei: January 22, 2024 – The Executive Director of Pohnpei Community Health Center (CHC), Dr. Josephine Saimon, along with the esteemed Board of Directors and dedicated staff, recently paid a courtesy visit to Governor Stevenson A. Joseph at the Governor’s Office.

The visit aimed to strengthen the partnership between the CHC and the State Government, fostering collaboration for the betterment of healthcare services in Pohnpei.The distinguished delegation included the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Gloria O. Hebel, Director Kesusa Falcam, Director Judy S.P. Mauricio, and CHC staff members Kanobersen Asher and Hellen Eliam. The meeting commenced with a heartfelt prayer led by Director Falcam, setting a positive tone for the discussions that followed.

Governor Joseph warmly welcomed the Executive Director, board members, and staff, expressing gratitude for their visit and commitment to enhancing healthcare in the region. Chairwoman Hebel provided an insightful overview of the current CHC Board Structure and its functions, detailing the four committees: Quality Assurance, Finance, Membership, and Audit Committee, with nine dedicated board members actively contributing.

Dr. Saimon delved into the operations of the Health Center, highlighting its status as a registered Non-Governmental Organization and outlining plans for expanding services through infrastructure development. The Executive Director shared her vision for the CHC’s future, emphasizing a commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services to the community.

Governor Joseph, appreciative of the information shared, pledged to collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Board to address any challenges faced by the CHC. He acknowledged the vital role of the CHC in the community and expressed his vision for increased cooperation between the CHC and the State Department of Health Services.
