On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, Governor Oliver and Speaker Lambert welcomed, The Most Reverend Bishop Julio Angkel, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of the Caroline Islands to Pohnpei State. Bishop Angkel was accompanied by Father Kelly Yalmadau, Judicial Vicar for the Diocese.
Bishop Angkel will be conducting the Sacrament of Confirmation for the Catholic Community in Pohnpei, during his visit. The Diocese of the Caroline Islands covers the Vicariates of Palau, Yap, Chuuk and Pohnpei. Vicariate of Pohnpei covers Kosrae. Father Ken Urumolug, S.J. is the Vicar for Pohnpei.
