On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, Governor Oliver signed L.B. No. 02-20 into State Law 10L-75-22, amending 1 PC 7-101 of the Pohnpei Code by creating a new Holiday to be known as “International Women’s Day” in recognition of Women’s Day celebrated throughout the world on March 8.
Joining Governor Oliver to witness this historic occasion from the Pohnpei Women’s Council, President: Mrs. Emy Musrasrik-Carl, Vice President, Maria Donre, Secretary – Bernolina Hedson, Treasurer – Judy Shoniber Perman Mauricio, and from the Women’s Program Coordinator from the Division of Social Services, Ms. Katsandra Shed. Chief of Staff, Kapilly Capelle, Public Affairs Officer, Peteriko Hairens, and Mrs. Elsy Santos, Legislative Liaison from the Governor’s Office were also present.
