Governor Oliver Receives US Ambassador H.E Carmen Cantor

On Friday, March 4, 2022, Governor Oliver welcomed H.E. Carmen Cantor, U.S. Ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and members of her staff, Defense Attache, U.S. Navy Commander Thomas Price, and Political Officer Roger Chuang to Peilapalap, Kolonia.
During their discussions, Ambassador Cantor congratulated Governor Oliver on the recent signing of legislation to make March 8, a public holiday to mark and observe International Women’s Day. They also spoke briefly on repatriation activities and about vaccination levels in Pohnpei, with Ambassador Cantor inviting Governor Oliver to their next vaccination campaign on March 18, 2022, at the U.S. Embassy parking lot.
Governor Oliver thanked Ambassador Cantor and the U.S. Government for their continuing support and assistance and invited her to the Governor’s State of the State message, on Thursday, April 10, 2022, at the Pohnpei State Legislature chamber.
Joining Governor Oliver to welcome Ambassador Cantor was Chief of Staff, Kapilly Capelle, Public Affairs Officer Peteriko Hairens, Public Information Officer Patrick Pedrus, and WD&ST Trainee Shane Celestine.
