Sharing the correspondence that prompted the Governor’s recent Op-Eds on accountability and transparency in our government and the need for strong, strategic leadership at the Department of Treasury. In these correspondences, concerns about transparency and leadership were raised, but it is important to note that the Governor was never officially informed of any investigation into the Director of Treasury, Mrs. Sihna Lawrence—a clear departure from the standard practice of keeping the Governor informed of key actions involving his cabinet members. Governor Joseph continues to stand firmly in support of the dedicated work done by Mrs. Lawrence, whose leadership remains essential to safeguarding Pohnpei’s financial future.
