Kolonia, Pohnpei: February 12, 2024 – Mr. Santos Abraham, representing the Division of Social Services under the Department of Health Services, recently visited Governor Stevenson A. Joseph to provide an update on the preparations for Cultural Day on March 31, 2024.

Cultural Day, a significant public holiday in Pohnpei, celebrates the rich heritage of Pohnpeian culture. Mr. Abraham briefed Governor Joseph on the upcoming arrangements for this annual event, seeking input and collaboration.

Governor Joseph commended the indigenous learning recovery programs in elementary schools and expressed interest in integrating these initiatives into this year’s Cultural Day events. He emphasized the importance of celebrating and preserving the unique cultural aspects through educational programs.
