Kolonia, Pohnpei: January 24, 2024 – ADB Senior Senior Country Officer for the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Mrs. Maybelline Bing, and Senior Operation Assistant, Mr. Alan Semens paid a courtesy call on Governor Stevenson A. Joseph at the Governor’s temporary office in downtown Kolonia. During the meeting, Mrs. Bing provided insights into the contributions of ADB to various sectors within the FSM. Joseph at the Governor’s temporary Office in Kolonia. Warm exchanges and fruitful discussions on matters of mutual interest and cooperation marked the meeting. Governor Joseph extended a heartfelt welcome to Ambassador Wei and his esteemed delegation, expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Pohnpei for the continuous support and assistance provided by the People’s Republic of China. He particularly acknowledged China’s contributions to infrastructure projects such as the Luhkop road and Kahmar bridge, emphasizing the positive impact on Pohnpei’s development. He highlighted innovative solutions, such as a trash processing plant in Guangzhou generating electricity without producing odors. He reaffirmed support for the FSM National Government’s One-China Policy and discussed the urgent need for transportation infrastructure for the outer islands.
